Key Features

  • 87-key tenkeyless (TKL) layout

  • Hot-swap PCB, KTT Coconut linear switches included
  • 5,000mAh battery, RGB backlight

For a first mechanical keyboard

The two things people hesitate over most when buying a first mechanical keyboard are layout and price. M87 Pro uses an 87-key layout with only the number pad removed, so hands coming from an office membrane keyboard find everything where they expect it, and for under 50,000 KRW it includes a gasket mount, hot-swap sockets, and tri-mode connectivity. It is the model Nodal Studio recommends most often as a starting point.

Gasket mount, 5-layer dampening

The plate rests on gaskets, and five layers of dampening material fill the case. This reduces the hollow ring common to plastic cases, leaving a lower, firmer sound. The plate is polycarbonate (PC), which feels softer than an aluminum plate.

Hot-swap, so you can change your mind later

The PCB has hot-swap sockets, so switches can be replaced without soldering. It ships with KTT Coconut linear switches, which are light and smooth with no tactile bump. The keycaps are double-shot PBT, so legends do not wear off and the surface does not turn shiny with use.

Tri-mode connectivity, 5,000mAh

USB-C wired, 2.4GHz receiver, and Bluetooth are all supported. The 5,000mAh battery is enough to move between an office desk and home. Works with both Windows and macOS.

Officially imported by Nodal Studio

M87 Pro is based on Xinmeng's M87 Pro V2, imported to Nodal Studio's specification with Korean/English legends and a Korean manual. As the official Korean importer, Nodal Studio handles stock, shipping, and one-year warranty service directly.

THE87 vs M87 Pro: what's the difference?

Both are 87-key tenkeyless tri-mode keyboards, but they serve different purposes. THE87 is Nodal's in-house full-aluminum signature board. M87 Pro is the entry-level model we recommend to people buying their first mechanical keyboard.

M87 Pro Frequently Asked Questions

Is the M87 Pro case aluminum?

No, it is a plastic case. If you want a full-aluminum case, we recommend THE87, designed in-house by Nodal Studio.

Can I change the switches?

Yes. The hot-swap sockets accept 3-pin and 5-pin MX-compatible switches without soldering.

Does it work with Mac?

Yes. Both Windows and macOS are supported, over Bluetooth or the 2.4GHz receiver.

Can I use other keycap sets?

It is a standard ANSI tenkeyless layout (6.25u spacebar, 2.75u right Shift), so most TKL and full-size keycap sets fit.

How is it different from THE87?

THE87 is Nodal Studio's in-house signature board with a full-aluminum CNC case, about 1.97kg, an 8,000mAh battery, and VIA keymap support. M87 Pro is an entry-level plastic-case board under 50,000 KRW. Both are 87-key tenkeyless, gasket-mounted, hot-swappable, and tri-mode.
